2016 Summer Reading Program: Adults

Exercise your mind...READ!

For the first time, the library is offering an adult summer reading program. It will include weekly drawings for gift cards, coupons and other goodies provided by area businesses. Participants will write reviews of books, audio books, or movies to earn entries into the drawing, with the person writing the most reviews winning a special prize. Those who complete their reading log will win a canvas book bag. Events include weekly fitness classes, book and movie review discussions, and origami bookmark-making. Martha Uchino, NPL Programmer, stresses that "it's all FREE and you can win great stuff!"

A unique feature of the adult program is "Walk About Natchitoches,” which guides participants to local landmarks for specialized tours. A special event Tuesday, June 21, will feature Louisiana author Jon Donlon reading from his book "Bayou Country Bloodsport,” giving listeners a chance to gain extra insight into his characters.
