2016 Summer Reading Program: Children

On your mark, get set...READ!

"Speeding Into the Arts" is this year's children's theme, and it features performances by musicians, puppeteers, storytellers, magicians and a theater troupe. There will also be an end of program obstacle course for those who pre-register. Parents or grandparents must register children for the reading portion, which includes prizes and entries for a grand prize drawing.

Children's Librarian Annabel Jones says she is most looking forward to storyteller Donald Lewis. "He is awesome,” Jones said. “There are no props; it is just him, his movements, and his voices!" Jones also reminds everyone that "the whole purpose of the program is to promote literacy to community youth, and it is free, so please bring your child!"
